Daxel A. Lopez is a talented Hispanic artist originally from Moca, Puerto Rico, and now based in Clermont, Florida. With a multifaceted educational background, Dax earned a BA in Marketing from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico in 1990. Leveraging his education and passion for creativity, he founded Dax Art Studio in 1991, where he has been bringing his artistic visions to life ever since.
Over the years, Dax has enriched his artistic practice by participating in numerous international studio courses across Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Italy, and the United States. Specializing primarily in glass art, he also works with metal and ceramics, continuously exploring and mastering various techniques such as fusion, casting, lost wax, and 3D form casting to craft intricate glass forms adorned with vibrant patterns and colors.
More recently, Dax has expanded his artistic repertoire by incorporating metal materials into his work, employing techniques such as touch cutting, welding, and 2D metal casting to add depth, dimension, and a unique tactile quality to his creations.
From a young age, Dax has been captivated by the transformative power of art and the ability of artists to convey emotions and ideas through different materials. Inspired by this fascination, he began his artistic journey, manifesting his visions in tangible, visual forms. At Dax Art Studio, he specializes in creating unique and innovative sculptural pieces that blur the lines between art and functional design, ranging from large-scale sculptures to smaller works, including murals, architectural forms, garden pieces, and recognition awards.
In addition to his studio practice, Dax has participated in several group exhibitions, showcasing his work in a variety of artistic spaces and gaining recognition for his distinctive artistic voice and innovative approach to glass art. Through his ongoing exploration, experimentation, and dedication to his craft, Dax continues to push the boundaries of traditional glass art, creating captivating and unique pieces that resonate with collectors, art enthusiasts, and audiences alike.
